Last week, our lab had an amazing time at the RNA-Binding Proteins (RBP) Conference in Heidelberg! 🎉 Organized by EMBL, this first-of-its-kind the meeting brought together top researchers to explore the expanding world of RBPs—from posttranscriptional gene regulation to riboregulation of protein functions—along with some exciting advances in experimental and computational methods. Tony, as a Keynote speaker, delivered an insightful talk on phase separation and the role of RNA-binding proteins.
The next day, David gave a fantastic presentation on intra-condensate demixing of TDP-43 inside stress granules and how it leads to pathological aggregates—sparking some great discussions with the audience!
Half of our team attended in person, while the rest joined virtually to catch all the exciting sessions (including David’s excellent talk!).
But it wasn’t all just science—there was plenty of time for fun and team bonding! 🎉 The conference’s social events were a real highlight, and we’re beyond excited to share that our team, together with Prof. Dr. Cynthia Sharma’s lab, won the pub quiz! 🍻🥇 A perfect way to wrap up an incredible few days!
