A warm welcome to Smitaroopa!
Smitaroopa earned her PhD from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai, India, where she worked under the supervision of Prof. Ankona Datta. Her doctoral research centered on designing fluorescent sensors to visualize and quantify the dynamics of diverse bio-analytes in real time within living cells.
In the Hyman lab, she will draw on this experience to investigate the chemical principles underlying biological condensates.
