Welcome to the team, Iris!
Iris completed her PhD at Radboud University Nijmegen under the supervision of Dr. Evan Spruijt. With a background in physical chemistry, her doctoral research explored how condensates could have played a role in the origin of life — focusing on their influence on (bio)chemical reactions through selective interactions with ions and metabolites, among other mechanisms.
She joins the Hyman lab as a postdoctoral researcher, where she will apply this knowledge to study biological condensates and the biochemical processes occurring within them.
