On September 15th, the Hyman Lab gathered once again for our fourth lab symposium at the MPI Galeria. These symposia have quickly become a big part of our lab culture—swapping out weekly meetings for a less frequent day-long get-together with deeper discussions, inspiring talks, and plenty of fresh ideas.
We began the day with lab updates—covering ongoing grants, upcoming events, and paper submissions—before moving on to the heart of the symposium: scientific talks from our lab members.

Kicking off the symposium, Jik and Sasha delivered our first-ever joint talk—a lively and collaborative presentation that immediately set the tone for the day. Their teamwork and dynamic style brought fresh energy and sparked exciting new conversations across the lab.

Jie followed with an engaging presentation that drew the audience into thoughtful discussion. The talk reflected both creativity and rigor, adding depth to the day’s scientific exchange.
