Dresden Festival Fun

Post by Carsten Hoege

Looking for something to do with your weekend?  Chances are there’s a festival happening somewhere in Dresden.  This weekend there were (at least) two!  The Hechtviertel neighborhood celebrated with it’s annual HechtFest, featuring food, art, live music, and an epic water balloon fight.  Simultaneously, the long-anticipated opening of Dresden’s newest bridge, the Waldschlößchenbrücke, was commemorated with a weekend-long party.  The Waldschlößchenbrücke is the closest bridge to the MPI-CBG, and its opening has shortened the daily commute to work for many Neustadt residents.

Summer may be winding down, but the festival schedule is not.  Check out some of Dresden’s Fall and Winter events here.
