Synergy between XMAP215 and EB1 increases microtubule growth rates to physiological levels.

Description: Using just two components, XMAP215 and EB1, we can achieve fast microtubule growth rates that are comparable to those observed in cells.  This is achieved through an allosteric effect of the two proteins on the ends of microtubules, resulting in a synergistic effect on growth rates rather than an additive effect of each individual proteins activity.
